Antonin Da Fonseca returns to Lyon as OL head of performance

Antonin Da Fonseca has returned to Lyon to become OL’s head of performance. His comeback follows the summer departures of Rick Cost and club doctor Manuel Afonso.

According to L'Équipe, the club has confirmed the reshuffle, appointing Da Fonseca to replace Cost and promoting Yann Fournier to lead doctor.

The move follows issues around injuries and prolonged recovery times among some players.

Da Fonseca, 42, previously worked at OL from 2011 to 2024 and was highly regarded by successive backroom teams and players. He played a key role in rehabilitating several players, notably Nabil Fekir after his serious injury.

Over the past two seasons he has been at LOSC, following Bruno Genesio, serving as head of performance.
