CD Castellón have signed Antonio Gala, a 22-year-old Italian attacking midfielder, from Campobasso. The club said in a statement that he has agreed a deal until 30 June 2030.
The move had been trailed since Tuesday, when Campobasso posted on their website that an agreement was in place for his switch to Castelló, then removed the notice. The transfer has now been completed.
Born in Naples on seven June 2004, Gala arrives after an excellent season in Serie C. Campobasso finished fourth, with the playmaker contributing seven goals and 10 assists.
Gala came through AC Milan’s academy, featuring in 11 UEFA Youth League games and making Champions League squads with the first team.
He began senior life on loan at Sestri Levante in Serie C, then joined Calcio Foggia before moving to Campobasso, where his attacking qualities flourished.
An adaptable attacking midfielder who can also play wide, his mobility, ball carrying, final pass and finishing are among his main strengths. He arrives at Castalia as a young player with room to grow, aiming to become a difference-maker in Castellón’s 26/27 project.
