Appeal of 18 Senegal fans after 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final opened then adjourned in Rabat

According to L'Équipe, the appeal hearing for 18 Senegalese supporters convicted after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final opened in Rabat on Monday, then was immediately postponed. It should take place on 30 March.
The Rabat Court of Appeal adjourned the case at the defence’s request to allow time to prepare case files. The defendants are represented by lawyer Naïma El Guellaf.
Held in Morocco since the final, the 18 are pursued for alleged violence, including against law enforcement, damage to sporting equipment, a pitch invasion and throwing projectiles.
The accused have denied any wrongdoing through their lawyers. They have been backed by the Senegalese Football Federation and several players.
On 19 February, nine were handed one-year prison terms at first instance, six received six months and the remaining three were given three months.
