Archer sparks Auxerre fightback to climb to ninth

Auxerre beat Brest 2-1 at Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps to make it back-to-back Ligue 1 wins and rise from 18th to ninth.

Pathé Mboup put Brest ahead in the 23rd minute with a low strike from outside the box. Joris Chotard then rattled the right post from a free kick (42.).

After the restart, Cameron Archer levelled (46.), finishing Danny Namaso's through ball into the bottom corner.

Mamadou Diop kept Auxerre on terms, saving Gautier Lloris' header (63.). At the other end, Egil Selvik denied Namaso at the near post (79.) as the game opened up.

A late twist decided it when Raphaël Le Guen diverted into his own net (83.) under pressure.

Auxerre registered 11 attempts with four on target. Brest produced eight attempts and won three corners.
