Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea: Ødegaard completes comeback as Gunners make it three wins from three | OneFootball

Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium and maintain their perfect Premier League start, with captain Martin Ødegaard scoring the winner five minutes after half-time.

Chelsea midfielder Morgan Rogers had put Xabi Alonso’s side ahead after only 77 seconds, but Arsenal striker Kai Havertz levelled midway through the first half. Ødegaard then finished a flowing move to put the defending champions in front, and David Raya’s late save from Estêvão helped Arsenal extend their unbeaten league run against Chelsea to 10 matches.

Chelsea needed less than two minutes to take the lead. Jorrel Hato headed a deep free-kick back towards the edge of the area, where Rogers guided a controlled volley into the bottom-left corner.

Arsenal thought they had equalised in the 11th minute when Riccardo Calafiori converted after Ezri Konsa had struck the post, but VAR ruled the defender offside in the build-up.

The hosts continued to create the better chances and were level in the 25th minute. Declan Rice found Havertz on the right, and the former Chelsea forward drove inside before beating Emiliano Martínez at his near post with a low left-footed strike.

Chelsea remained dangerous on the break. Rogers fired wide after good work from João Pedro, while Pedro Neto came even closer in first-half stoppage time, cutting in from the right and curling a shot against the base of the post.

Arsenal went ahead five minutes after the restart. Christos Tzolis cut in from the right and played the ball towards Havertz, whose dummy allowed Ødegaard to run onto it and finish past Martínez from inside the area.

Mikel Arteta’s side had chances to extend the lead, with Martínez denying Bukayo Saka before Havertz headed narrowly wide from a corner. Chelsea had more of the ball late on but struggled to create a clear opening.

Their best chance to equalise came in the 89th minute when substitute Estêvão cut inside from the right and curled towards the top corner. Raya reacted well to tip the effort over, and Arsenal protected their one-goal advantage through stoppage time to secure a third consecutive league win.
