Gunners keen to offload winger, along with at least three other players

The 26-year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan away from the Gunners, first at Brentford and then at Fulham.

Nelson returned to Arsenal this summer but he is not in Mikel Arteta's plans for the upcoming season and the club are hoping to find a move for him.

West Ham have approached the Gunners to discuss his availability as they look to strengthen their squad for a promotion push in the Championship.

Standard Sport understands that Arsenal would be keen on that move for Nelson, who has entered the final year of his contract, and have provided encouragement to the Hammers.

Negotiations are ongoing between the clubs over the conditions of a potential deal but it remains to be seen whether Nelson would be open to dropping down to the Championship.

Personal terms have not yet been discussed with the winger and he is still considering his options.

Several clubs have registered interest in Nelson this summer, including Benfica.

The Portuguese side are now managed by Marco Silva, who brought Nelson to Fulham two seasons ago.

Arsenal would prefer a permanent sale for Nelson this summer but there have been enquiries over another loan move.

If that is sanctioned, the Gunners have the option to extend Nelson's contract by another 12 months to protect his value.

Arsenal are also open to selling Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira before the end of the window.

The Gunners want up to £20million for Jesus, who has been linked with Napoli. However, it is understood that Arsenal have not received a formal approach from the Italian club as it stands.

Arsenal are looking to find a loan move for goalkeeper Tommy Setford to secure regular first-team football this season.

Illan Meslier's arrival means that Setford has dropped further down the pecking order and the 20-year-old is expected to depart on loan in the coming weeks.
