In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Arsenal are in the running to recruit Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. It is believed that the Gunners would have to rival Atletico Madrid in the race to acquire the services of the Spanish talent next year.
Guerra has made a good start to this campaign as he has put in a series of impressive displays for the Spanish club at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old has secured a couple of assists in 12 matches for Valencia this season across various competitions.
The Spanish talent has anchored the midfield with conviction and has done well to make seven tackles, six blocks, eight interceptions and ten clearances in La Liga. He has even distributed possession from midfield based on his pass success rate of 76.8% in the Spanish first division (stats via fbref.com).
Guerra is under contract at Valencia until the summer of 2029. Thus, Arsenal would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about signing him next year.

Guerra is a tough-tackling midfielder who can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his side in the middle of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The Spanish sensation can engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. Standing at 1.87m, he can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team.
However, only time will tell whether Guerra can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League. Still, we can expect him to bring more bite and steel to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He would also help the Gunners compete across all fronts in the coming years.
At 22, Guerra has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Hence, the North London club would be wise to try everything they can to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Arteta has to give him some time to adjust to life in North London before he can get the best out of the player.
