In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Arsenal are set to rival Chelsea for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. It has been stated that the Gunners are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Argentine talent this summer.

Alvarez’s Impressive Form In La Liga

Alvarez has put in a series of impressive performances for Diego Simeone’s side in the final third this season. The Argentina international has banged in 11 goals and earned five assists in 31 matches for Atletico Madrid in this campaign so far across all competitions.

The 26-year-old is currently among the most consistent forwards in La Liga. Hence, it is no surprise that the Gunners are hoping to bring him back to England this summer.

His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Arsenal to recruit him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

Will Alvarez Be A Good Option For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Alvarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some decent chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Argentine talent can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. Alvarez is primarily a centre-forward but can also function as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Man City and won’t take much time to settle into life at Arsenal.

We can expect Alvarez to enhance the quality of Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is good enough to compete with Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium in the coming years.

At 26, Alvarez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him an excellent option for the North London giants to consider at the end of this campaign. He might even help the Gunners compete for some major honours in the future. Thus, Arteta should focus on stepping up his efforts to land him later this year.
