Arsenal consider late loan move for Marcus Rashford

Arsenal could consider a late loan approach to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, following Gabriel Martinelli’s exit.

Arsenal have agreed the sale of Martinelli to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for a fee in the region of £55m and remain keen to sign a forward before the transfer deadline.

The Gunners have been frustrated in pursuits of Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez, with both players turning down potential moves to North London. Having also sold Leandro Trossard earlier in the summer, Arsenal lack left-sided options and could turn to Rashford.

The Independent are reporting that Arsenal could launch a late loan move for Rashford, who has returned to Manchester United this summer. The 28-year-old has spent the past 18 months out on loan at Aston Villa and Barcelona, though the latter turned down the option to make the move permanent.

Rashford has been reintegrated into the squad under Michael Carrick and started in the 5-2 win over Ipswich Town on Sunday. Despite that, his future remains unclear and Arsenal are monitoring the situation. However, Rashford is reportedly uninterested in leaving Old Trafford for a Premier League rival, while there is reluctance from Manchester United to sanction a third loan.
