The Telegraph reports that talks between Arsenal and Galatasaray over Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri also featured Victor Osimhen.

The report said Galatasaray have tabled a £38.4 million offer for Martinelli and shown interest in Nwaneri, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille, during discussions with Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta.

The conversations included a scenario in which Osimhen would move to Arsenal. It remains unclear whether Berta proposed the idea or if the striker was initially offered to the club.

Arsenal have long admired Osimhen, though he sits behind Argentina’s Julián Álvarez in their plans to strengthen at centre-forward. Atlético Madrid value Álvarez at more than £100 million, a price that looks an obstacle for Arsenal and could prompt a switch in targets.

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal’s north London rivals, have also been linked with Osimhen as they seek fresh attacking options.

Arsenal remain keen on Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa but need to move closer to Villa’s £60 million valuation. The Gunners have tried to drive the fee down, yet Villa have so far refused to open talks, and Konsa has returned to training after featuring regularly for England at the World Cup. He is believed to be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium, though he is unlikely to force an exit, leaving agreement with Villa essential.
