The 17-year-old striker could move to the north London club in January
Arsenal may finally be getting somewhere in their pursuit of young Blackburn Rovers striker Igor Tyjon.
The north London club had an earlier bid of around £1m plus add-ons rejected during the summer transfer window, as revealed by journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon.
However, Rovers’ apparent frustrations over the striker’s contract situation could soon open the door to fresh negotiations - potentially allowing Mikel Arteta's side to make another move when the winter transfer window opens.

As per Nixon's latest Patreon report, Arsenal are now set to receive the "green light" to pursue a deal for Tyjon in the new year.
The key issue, according to Nixon, appears to be that Tyjon has not committed his future to the Championship club, with his current contract set to expire at the end of this season.
This leaves Rovers in a somewhat frustrating position - as the Lancashire outfit are faced with the prospect of potentially losing their young talent for nothing if a deal cannot be struck.
Nixon then stated that Blackburn have grown increasingly fed up with waiting for Tyjon to sign new terms, so the club's willingness to consider selling him in January shows their determination to cut any future losses.
Arsenal's next bid is "likely" to be in the winter window - and you’d like to think that negotiations may prove more straightforward this time given Tyjon's apparent contract situation.

Nixon concluded by saying Tyjon's reluctance to sign a new contract at Blackburn has had an impact on his development at the club.
Had the striker committed his future to Rovers, the club would have reportedly used him more regularly in the first team - which would have provided him with valuable competitive experience at Championship level.
However, not putting pen to paper has effectively stalled his progress, with Blackburn understandably reluctant to give playing time to someone unwilling to commit his long-term future to the club.
Tyjon’s path to finding regular first-team football now appears very much dependent on finding a new club, whether that comes via an immediate transfer to Arsenal in January or a move elsewhere further down the line.
At a price perhaps likely to remain in the region of his summer valuation, Arteta's side could add an exciting prospect who could develop into a serious talent over time.
Ultimately, for Blackburn, accepting the Gunners’ potential approach in January would be a sensible decision.
Rather than risk losing Tyjon for nothing when his contract expires in the summer, securing a fee in the winter window could allow more money to be spent on incomings at Ewood Park.
