In a recent report, Sky Germany stated that Arsenal have opened talks to land Red Bull Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are holding discussions with the German club over a potential move for the Slovenia international this summer.
The 21-year-old is enjoying a fine campaign at the German club as he has managed to produce a run of productive displays for them in the Bundesliga. Sesko has banged in 21 goals and picked up six assists in 45 matches for RB Leipzig this season across all fronts.
The Slovenian talent has led the line well for the German club based on his average of 2.1 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. However, he needs to work on improving his ball distribution in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 68.2% in the German top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Leipzig will expire in the summer of 2029 which could make it difficult for the Gunners to sign him this off-season.

Sesko has proven his worth as a clinical finisher in the Bundesliga. He can create a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to engineer a few inviting chances for others around him and is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area.
The Slovenian sensation can use his towering 1.95m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. However, he needs to work on improving his link-up play up top. Furthermore, there are some concerns over whether Sesko would be able to adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if Arsenal manage to secure his services this summer.
We can expect Sesko to bring more firepower to Mikel Arteta‘s frontline. He has what it takes to be a regular starter at the Emirates Stadium in the coming seasons. At 21, Sesko has got a bright future ahead of him and would be a great choice for the Gunners in the long run.
The Slovenian forward might even help the North London club challenge for some major trophies over the next decade. Thus, Arteta should focus on getting a deal done for him in this summer transfer period.
