Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Nico Paz ahead of January and next summer. Even though Como retained him by shelling out €60M, his future is still in Real Madrid’s hands. They can bring him back for €80M thanks to a clause.
According to El Desmarque (via Calciomercato), the Gunners could table a bid as early as the next window if the Argentine continues to shine despite the Lariani’s busier schedule, considering their UEFA Champions League qualification.
If Arsenal tendered a lofty proposal for Nico Paz, Real Madrid would be forced to make a decision. If they considered the bid particularly enticing, they could activate it and flip the player to turn a profit.
The starlet registered 12 goals and 7 assists in the most recent season, earning a call-up for the World Cup. However, he didn’t play a lot in such a competition. He has scored once and dished out two helpers in his first four displays this campaign.
The Biancoblù basically agreed to a glorified loan spell from Real Madrid. They’ll get a €20M check for their trouble if everything goes to plan. Still, one has to wonder whether he’s really that interested in going back to the Spanish capital, as he not so subtly pushed to stay where he is for two summers in a row.
Considering that and his understandable desire to be a linchpin and not get lost in the shuffle in a top team, everything is on the table regarding his future, including a move to a different team that makes him feel more central or a longer spell at his present one.
