The central midfielder has starred on loan at Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille this campaign but he made comments to the French press ahead of the game that did not go down well with the nation's fans, reports the Mirror.

Guendouzi provoked PSG fans with his pre-match comments that he would rather be playing at a different stadium, with supporters within the capital overwhelmingly supportive of Mauricio Pochettino's team.

The midfielder said ahead of the clash: “I would have preferred to play at the Stade de France, that's for sure!

“The Parc des Princes is the stadium of PSG. But we will be keen to win there and I hope that the people who will come to the stadium will be entertained and proud of us and we will push to qualify for the World Cup."

The comments were never going to go down well and the midfield was greeted with a less than hospitable welcome when his name was read out by the tannoy announcer ahead of kick-off.
