Arsenal are considering Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Campos as a potential replacement for Edu Gaspar as the club’s sporting director, according to Sky Sports.

Campos is a renowned talent scout with a proven track record of identifying and nurturing young talent. He has been instrumental in PSG’s recent shift towards a more sustainable recruitment strategy.

While at Lille, he signed Sven Botman, Gabriel Magalhaes, Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David. His scouting prowess has made him a highly sought-after figure in European football.

With Edu’s departure earlier this month, Arsenal are actively searching for a new sporting director to oversee player recruitment and development.

Campos, whose contract with PSG expires in the summer, has emerged as a strong candidate.

However, he is not the only name on Arsenal’s shortlist. Other potential candidates include West Ham United’s Tim Steidten, Bayer Leverkusen’s Simon Rolfes and Real Sociedad’s Roberto Olabe.

The club’s management team, including manager Mikel Arteta, has been engaged in discussions regarding the club’s future direction.

The appointment of a new sporting director is a crucial step in ensuring the club’s long-term success.

While the other sporting chiefs on the Arsenal shortlist are respectable figures, Campos stands out. He built the Monaco side that toppled PSG en route to the Ligue 1 title and repeated the trick with Lille.

He has built an excellent team at PSG, but they may need to get rid of Luis Enrique in the dugout before they can enjoy success.

Whoever takes over Arsenal this summer will be tasked with first signing a striker capable of spearheading them to their first Premier League title in two decades.

The north Londoners also need wide reinforcements to provide competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. They could also use some more quality in midfield.
