Vincent Joseph says “the time has come to say goodbye”

Furthermore, it was reported at the time that the Gunners and Liverpool were discussing a fee settlement for the 16-year-old striker.

Due to Joseph being under the age of 24 and not signing a professional contract with Liverpool, if the two clubs were not able to reach an agreement over a fee, it would be decided by a tribunal.

Judging by the teenager’s post on Instagram, it would appear some sort of resolution is in place after he posted a farewell message.

“After 9 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye,” Joseph wrote. “Thank you for the memories, and for making my time here truly special. @liverpoolfc YNWA.”

Joseph has scored eight goals in nine appearances for England’s under-16 side and played for Liverpool in the under-18 Premier League last season, scoring three goals in two appearances.

If Joseph - as expected - does join Arsenal, he will continue the club’s aggressive youth recruitment which has been the focus all summer.

In addition, Habeeb Ogunneye, James Scanlon, Igor Tyjon, Axel Donczew, Mylo Bernard and Elijah Upson - son of former Arsenal defender Matthew - have all made the switch to the Emirates Stadium during the course of the summer.
