Arsenal have continued monitoring one of Georgian football’s brightest young talents closely, sending scouts to watch Andria Bartishvili in European action this week.

Per the Daily Mail, the Gunners had representatives in attendance for Iberia 1999’s Europa League qualifier against Northern Irish side Larne on Tuesday.

Arsenal have tracked Bartishvili for several months, with the Premier League club seeing him as one of the standout prospects from Georgia.

The Arsenal target’s direct running, close control and attacking flair have earned him comparisons with Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Interestingly, PSG could rival Arsenal for his signature as they have been keeping tabs on the teenager too.

Also, several Serie A clubs have reportedly registered their interest in signing the ‘very talented‘ 17-year-old attacking midfielder.

The youngster is currently on loan at Iberia 1999 from fellow Georgian club Kolkheti 1913, but he is expected to be sold this summer.

Growing interest from across Europe means a permanent move is on the horizon, with a transfer expected in the coming days.

Arsenal’s latest scouting mission suggests they are determined to stay at the front of the queue for Bartishvili.

If Arsenal eventually pull the trigger to sign him, the North Londoners should consider leaving him in Georgia to continue developing.

Regular senior football in Georgia could prove far more valuable than limited minutes with the Gunners’ academy or under-21s.

A deal that allows him to remain with his current club, or elsewhere in the Georgian top flight, would allow him to continue his development in a familiar environment.

It could make all the difference as Arsenal monitor his progress closely.

Besides, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta already has elite teenage attacking talents Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri competing for opportunities in the first team.

There is no immediate need to fast-track another prospect. Patience could ultimately maximise Bartishvili‘s long-term potential.
