Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has seen a pair of his personal Champions League records come under threat.
This comes after up-and-coming Arsenal prodigy Max Dowman was afforded a place in the Gunners’ European squad for the season ahead.
Dowman, for those not familiar with his name, is a 15-year-old attacker, who is currently making waves in English football.
The starlet recently became the 2nd-youngest player in Premier League history, after featuring off the bench in a 5-0 drubbing of Leeds United.
And as alluded to above, Dowman could yet go on to snatch a further pair of records from Lamine Yamal over the months ahead.
As per a report from Diario Sport, wide-man Lamine currently holds both of the following records:
‘The youngest player to start in a European top flight match at just 16 years and 83 days, and the youngest player to participate in a knockout match. He achieved it at the age of 16 years and 223 days against Napoli.’
Dowman, included by Mikel Arteta in Arsenal’s Champions League squad for 2025/26, therefore has the chance to take both of these benchmarks for himself.
