The summer window shut on Tuesday night with Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham finalising squads. Arsenal had no Deadline Day arrivals, a pursuit of Julian Alvarez did not materialise, and Gabriel Martinelli’s proposed move to Saudi Arabia remains unconfirmed.
Chelsea had the most dramatic day, selling Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City for a British record-equalling £125m, and seeing Monaco pull out of a deal for Lamine Camara late on. The Daily Mail claims Arsenal tried to sign Lautaro Martinez before the deadline, but Inter kept the striker.
Tottenham lost Iliman Ndiaye to City, yet brought in Mykhailo Mudryk on loan and Tosin Adarabioyo for £12m from Chelsea. Liverpool sealed Bradley Barcola the previous day for £{123m}, then drew a line under their business.
It was a busy day at Crystal Palace despite missing out on Fofana. Leon Bailey left Aston Villa for Olympiacos on a permanent deal.
Manchester City sent Claudio Echeverri to Benfica on a season-long loan. Manchester United striker Chido Obi agreed a season-long loan to Willem II.
Liverpool also introduced Jeremy Jacquet, further boosting their French contingent. Discussions around Vini Jr and Arsenal did not lead to an arrival.
Teenage forward Andria Bartishvili has flown to London for a medical ahead of a future Arsenal move, with a pre-agreement to join in 2027 once he turns 18. He currently plays for Iberia 1999 on loan from Kolkheti 1913 and has been likened to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
