Xabi Alonso has named his Chelsea side to face Arsenal in the Premier League at Emirates Stadium on September 6.

Chelsea are looking to maintain their 100 per cent start to the campaign after back-to-back wins over Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion. 

Arsenal head into Sunday’s clash in similar form, winning both of their opening fixtures - but they have managed to keep clean sheets in both.

Mikel Arteta’s side have made a strong start to their title defence, and their recent record over Chelsea will offer them a confidence boost, not that it is required, ahead of the Blues’ visit.

Chelsea have lost their last four away league games at the Emirates, last winning in August 2021. It marks over five years since they’ve won in the league in north London, a record Alonso will be desperate to end at his first attempt.

It’s a new look Chelsea side when they head to the Emirates this time. Emiliano Martinez starts in goal after replacing Robert Sanchez as the club’s number one.

Maxence Lacroix offers the visitors much needed physicality and height in the defence. Josh Acheampong and Wesley Fofana start, Levi Colwill on the bench.

Morgan Rogers, who was the subject of transfer interest from Arsenal over the summer, is playing in blue and will be keen to inflict misery on Chelsea’s London rivals.

Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro have made fine starts to the campaign, and they will fancy their chances to continue their form and end Arsenal’s clean sheet record.

The big team news is Moises Caicedo. After coming off against Brighton, he trained during the week ahead of facing Arsenal. He is not in the squad.
