Claims that Eddie Nketiah will cost £50m this summer have been played down, but Arsenal are expected to demand a high price for the striker.

Earlier this week, Alex Crook reported for talkSPORT that Arsenal had put a £50m asking price on Eddie Nketiah, suggesting the fee in conjuction with the striker’s £100,000-a-week wages would likely put off a lot of his suitors.

In response to the claims, Fabrizio Romano reports that he’s not aware of a final price tag being decided or communicated for Nketiah.

Romano writes that Arsenal are expected to consider proposals for Nketiah, and he won’t be cheap, but there’s no specific valuation on his head right now.

The Italian journalist adds that there’s interest in Nketiah from clubs in England, but it’s not advanced at this stage, with the striker market expected to get moving after Euro 2024.

James McNicholas recently reported for The Athletic that Nketiah was one of a few homegrown Arsenal players contemplating their futures.

Crystal Palace reportedly admire the striker, though it remains to be seen if they’re willing or able to make an offer that Arsenal would accept.
