The question Arsenal fans have been asking is: Where're Viktor Gyokeres goals? Since scoring his last goal against Nottingham Forest on 13 September 2025, the Swedish striker's failed to score in 8 consecutive matches for club & country.

A run of over 600 minute without finding the net. This contrasts sharply with his attacking form just few months ago with Sporting CP.

From record breaker to goal drought

Gyokeres joined Arsenal in July 2025 for €73.5 million boasting impressive record with his former club:

  • 97 goal in 102 game over two season
  • 43 goal in 50 game (2023 /24)
  • 54 goal in 52 game (2024 /25)

These impressive performances made him one of the most dangerous strikers in Europe which prompted Arsenal to pay such large sum for his transfer.

However since his move, the numbers tell different story: he's scored just 3 goal in 10 game and hasn't scored goal in his last eight.

For Arsenal this goal drought coincides with decline in the player's offensive prowess. While Mikel Arteta's team remains competitive domestically, in Europe they've suffered from lack of finishing with several crucial matches ending dropping points highlighting the need for Gyokeres to quickly regain his form.

Internationally, Sweden's qualifying campaign in Oct was disastrous. Gyokeres failed to score in 2 - 0 defeat to Switzerland and 1 - 0 home defeat to Kosovo, results that left their World cup hopes become almost impossible and led to the sacking of coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Why it’s happening?

A close explanation of the player's condition: At Sporting, Gyokeres flourished as pivotal player within system built around his attacking strengths.

At Arsenal he's still adapting to new structure that relies on fewer direct passes & more flexible attacking roles.
