"Manuela sustained the injury during a training session while preparing for our trip to face Benfica in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

"Our Austrian goalkeeper will undergo surgery in due course and is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

"Manuela is being closely supported by our medical team at Sobha Realty Training Centre, and everyone at Arsenal looks forward to seeing her return to action as soon as possible."

The Austrian has yet to feature so far this season due to Daphne van Domselaar taking the number one spot and is now not likely to be back on the pitch until the 2026/27 campaign.

But the injury now leaves Renée Slegers' side with only one senior backup goalkeeper in Anneke Borbe who joined in the summer from Wolfsburg but is yet to feature for the Gunners.

Zinsberger played 18 times for Arsenal in all competitions last season, including four games in the first leg Champions League final against OL Lyonnes.
