Former Benfica forward Arthur Cabral could be set to leave Botafogo, with a move to the Middle East under discussion.
According to Globo Esporte, Al Wasl have lodged a convincing offer with Botafogo, and the Brazilian striker has an agreement lined up to head to the United Arab Emirates, where Portuguese duo Pedro Malheiro and Serginho Andrade play.
If the deal goes through, Benfica could receive an additional payment, having retained 10% of any future sale in the agreement with Botafogo. Cabral moved to Rio de Janeiro for €12m, with a potential €3m in add-ons.
There had been suggestions that the arrival of Martín Anselmi, former Porto coach, might revive the striker. After links with Torino, his next move may now lie in the Middle East.
In 2025, Cabral has made 28 appearances for Botafogo, 21 in the Brasileirão, three in the Copa do Brasil, two in the Club World Cup and two in the Copa Libertadores. He has amassed 1,854 minutes, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
