AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane says he is looking to use the postponement of their fixture against Orlando Pirates to fine-tune his team.

Usuthu were set to host the Soweto giants in KZN in a Betway Premiership encounter on Saturday, but the Buccaneers have continental commitments.

As a result, Zwane’s men will have an extend period of rest, which is perceived as a disruption of momentum, with the fifth-placed team on a four-game unbeaten run in the league.

However, the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor sees the hiatus as a silver lining to sharpen his troops in training.

“The bottom line is we have to understand that when such things happen, we just have to prepare ourselves in terms of mindset. I’m not too worried about us not playing this weekend, we come from a FIFA break,” said Zwane.

“Sometimes it gives us enough time to work on certain things when we analyze ourselves, to improve on those aspects so that when we get an opportunity like this again, we are ready and sharp to perform to our best abilities.

“The next game is against TS Galaxy, and we are looking forward to that game, we will start preparing for it. As for Pirates, we will wait for the league to give indication in terms of the [new] date.

AmaZulu will travel to Mpumalanga, where they are scheduled to take on the Rockets at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday, 24 September.
