Arzul accepts Santos return and leaves Guarani

Guarani have lost goalkeeping coach Arzul, who has accepted an offer to return to Santos and is leaving Brinco de Ouro.

His comeback to Vila Belmiro follows a direct request from head coach Cuca, who asked for his return to join the staff and oversee the goalkeepers.

Arzul arrived at Guarani 11 months ago as a significant addition to the football department. Diego Xau, formerly of Ponte Preta and at Brinco de Ouro since the start of the season, will now lead the goalkeepers.

He previously spent 28 years at Vila Belmiro, playing a central role in the emergence and peak years of Rafael Cabral, Vanderlei, Everson, John and João Paulo.

His uninterrupted spell ended at the start of 2025 during a board-led overhaul at Santos. The move comes a little over a year after that departure.
