Raquel Santos has signed for Leões de Porto Salvo’s women’s futsal team after leaving Benfica. According to Glorioso 1904, the move is official.
She joined Benfica at 18 from Lisbon’s district football, having represented Arneiros and Os Paulenses. She went on to become a standout in the club’s set-up.
During her time at Benfica she won 26 trophies, including eight national championships and a Futsal Women’s European Championship.
Her departure came at the end of last season, when she left the national champions after 10 years. In her farewell she issued strong criticism of the club’s board.
Santos now starts a new chapter with Leões de Porto Salvo, a high-profile addition to their project. Her experience and honours represent an important boost for the Oeiras municipality side.
