AS Monaco have confirmed they have parted company with Paul Pogba on the eve of Thursday’s 20:00 Europa Conference League play-off first leg in Zabrze, Poland.

The 2018 World Cup winner signed a two-year deal in June 2025, but persistent injuries prevented him from building fitness and playing regularly. According to several media, Saudi Arabia or MLS could be possible destinations.

Last season he featured in six Ligue 1 games, totalling 115 minutes, with one start. He played only the second half of the first pre-season friendly against Saint-Priest, a 5-2 match on 18 July.

At 33, and following an 18-month suspension for a positive testosterone test while at Juventus in 2023, he could not reach the physical level required for Ligue 1. During the camp in England he sustained a thigh injury in training.

Monaco and Pogba reached a financial agreement to end his deal amicably, with his contract previously running to June 2027. He intends to continue his career, likely in a league less physically demanding than Ligue 1.
