AS Monaco are in advanced talks over the sale of Aleksandr Golovin, with a return to Russia possible before Thursday’s deadline, L’Équipe reports.
Golovin, 30, joined Monaco in 2018 and is by far the longest-serving player in Filipe Luís’ squad.
Talks have continued since the French window shut, and discussions involve either Spartak Moscow or Zenit St. Petersburg.
Monaco need to sell players to cut the wage bill and inject funds.
A prospective move taking Folarin Balogun to Everton was set to provide that boost, but fell through at the last moment.
Pape Cabral was linked with Saudi Arabia yet has stayed with his formative club, while Golovin could still depart.
