AS Saint-Étienne will host Nice in a sold-out Geoffroy-Guichard for the first leg of the play-off on Tuesday 26 May at 20:45, marking a fourth consecutive full house as the Greens stand two games from a possible Ligue 1 return.
According to Le Progres, tickets went in under 48 hours despite the midweek slot. After a single night of sales for subscribers, 15,000 had gone by Monday morning, rising to 25,000 by evening and 30,000 by Tuesday lunchtime before the general sale.
Around 100 fans queued at the stadium from 14:00 while roughly 7,000 waited online, and by 16:15 there were no seats left.
Attendance will be at least 38,000, and could approach 39,772 if away travel for Nice fans is prohibited and the visitors’ section is released.
The disciplinary commission meets on Wednesday to decide whether the second leg on Friday 29 May at 20:45 is played with or without spectators, which is considered probable under the commission’s scale, or with a partial closure.
