Asllani has chosen Torino and can leave Inter | OneFootball

Kristjan Asllani is on the verge of a transfer from Inter to Torino, as he prefers them after failing to agree personal terms with Bologna.

The 23-year-old had been purchased from Empoli for €15.7m following an initial loan in 2023 and the idea was for him to be the heir to one of the ageing midfielders, like Hakan Calhanoglu or Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

However, with those two continuing at San Siro, and Asllani receiving very little playing time, the decision was made for him to be sold this summer.

Asllani has no future at Inter

Inter made it very clear that it was time for the Albania international to find himself a new club.

Negotiations were at an advanced stage for a sale to Bologna, but his €2m per season wage demands scuppered the move, while he also rebuffed an approach from Real Betis.

Torino then stepped in and decided to make it stick, with the player giving his preference to the Granata.

This is not the only time Torino and Bologna have gone for the same player, as they are also duelling for Venezia midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.
