Iago Aspas will miss Sunday’s visit to Mestalla. The Celta forward is still working individually after a mild left Achilles tendinopathy. The club’s medical update did not specify a recovery time.

According to AS, Giráldez downplayed the issue during his renewal announcement and said the recovery should take only days. Aspas sustained the problem in training on Tuesday.

In the best scenario, the captain could be ready for Thursday’s quarter-final against Friburgo in Germany, provided there is no setback. In the worst case, he will be recovered to play the return at Balaídos.

Ilaix Moriba has made it back in time to face Valencia after overcoming tendinopathy in the right patellar tendon. That enables Giráldez to restore the midfield with two specialists, Sotelo and the Guinean.

Also on the medical list are Román and Vecino. The Galician will not play again this season, while the Uruguayan is in the final phase of his recovery from a myofascial tear in the left soleus sustained two weeks ago against Olympique de Lyon. If all goes as planned, he could return next Thursday against Friburgo.
