ASSE pre-season tops and flops: Breum and Bernauer lead midfield as full-back doubts remain

Saint-Étienne rounded off pre-season with a 4-3 win over Venezia, a week before they visit Sochaux on Saturday at 20:45.

Five friendlies yielded two wins, one draw and two defeats. The trajectory improved across the month, capped by that spirited result against a Serie A side. According to Le Progres, the overall balance was more positive than negative.
