Aston Villa star Donyell Malen helped the Netherlands qualify for the 2026 World Cup last night.

The Villa ace bagged a goal and delivered an excellent all-round performance in the frontline as they claimed a 4-0 win over Lithuania.

The 26-year-old raced onto a clearance out from the back, blitzed past a defender, and blasted a terrific hit beyond the goalkeeper.

Football Oranje wrote: “A fantastic solo goal added a fourth for Oranje and gave Malen something to cheer. He was in and out of the game but always full of running.”

Malen was electric for the Oranje, completing five out of six dribbles and winning six of his eight ground duels.

Villa fans will hope to see more performances like this. He was electric for the Villans in pre-season but struggled since the season started.

He has found his groove, and Villa will be eager to see him, Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, and the rest of the squad spearhead the club towards an unforgettable season.

After climbing up to sixth following a miserable start, the Villains will be eyeing Champions League qualification this season.

Sunderland are ahead but will likely drop down. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur sit above the Villans, but are inconsistent.

The Villains need to pounce when they eventually drop points.

Villa travel to take on Leeds United this weekend and will back themselves to pick up three points. Malen will be key in the attack.

The Villains have not lost to Leeds since 2020 and will be desperate to continue that run with a win on Sunday, before taking that momentum to the Europa League.
