Aston Villa agree €55m deal for PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye | OneFootball

Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of teenage forward Ibrahim Mbaye worth €55 million, according to The Athletic.

The Villains desperately need to rebuild their attack, and the club is now working to complete the paperwork and finalise the transfer for the 18-year-old.

The relationship between Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi played an important role in helping the two clubs reach an agreement.

The incoming Villa star joined the French champions in 2018 and progressed through the club’s academy before making his senior debut in August 2024 at just 16 years old.

Since then, the Senegal international has made 42 first-team appearances, contributing four goals and four assists.

He featured 31 times in all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

His promising performances caught the eyes of clubs like Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool.

The forward started 10 Ligue 1 matches and one Champions League fixture, while also becoming the youngest player to start a competitive match.

Mbaye has since become an important member of Senegal’s senior squad after switching allegiance from France, making his international debut in November 2025.

He played in six of Senegal’s seven matches during their victorious 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

He started three of their four games at the 2026 World Cup, scoring against France in their opening fixture, becoming the youngest African to score at a World Cup.

For Villa, the deal is another major move in an extremely busy summer transfer window.

Mbaye would become their ninth arrival, with Nicolas Jackson also set to join.

Morgan Rogers has left the Villains in a club-record £117m transfer, while Ollie Watkins is expected to move too.

Villa have also brought in Alejandro Garnacho on loan and explored moves for Rafael Leao and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Unai Emery’s side could still use additions in midfield and defence.

The Villains are light in midfield and could use another instrumental player after Amadou Onana’s long-term injury.

Ezri Konsa also left, meaning they must add another defender to their ranks before the window closes.
