In a recent report, Sky Italia stated that Aston Villa are among the clubs hoping to land Universidad de Chile winger Dario Osorio. It has been claimed that the Villans could face stiff competition from AC Milan in the race to land the Chile international.
Osorio has caught the eye with his performances back in his homeland where he has proven himself to be one of the best young wingers. The 19-year-old has banged in seven goals in 27 appearances for his current employers this season across various competitions.
The talented wide player has already shown a few glimpses of his true potential but is yet to prove his worth outside Chilean football.
His current contract with Universidad de Chile is set to run out at the end of 2025 which means that it won’t be easy for the Villans to strike a deal for him before the transfer window slams shut as the Chilean side are in no immediate need to sell him unless they receive a big offer for his services.

Osorio usually works hard for his team off the ball and has got the technical qualities to make some decent runs with the ball in the final third. He can shoot the ball well from long range and can engineer some inviting chances for his teammates up top.
However, the Chilean sensation is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if Aston Villa can manage to get him on board during this January transfer window.
Osorio mainly operates as a right-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger if his manager tells him to do so. At 19, the future looks quite bright for the gifted whizkid but only if he is willing to put in the work to improve his all-round game on the training field.
Osorio is good enough to serve as a sporadic presence in Unai Emery‘s match-day squad but would have to find a way to cope with the physical side and high intensity of English football. Still, there is no doubt that he will be a good fit for the Villans in the long run as long as the West Midlands club are willing to be patient with his progress in the coming seasons.
