Aston Villa supporters have reacted angrily to an away allocation of 1,699 for next Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg at Nottingham Forest, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

The clubs had been in talks before the allocation was confirmed on Wednesday, with kick-off at eight pm.

The figure is about 1,300 fewer than the number made available for the Premier League meeting at the City Ground earlier this month, which finished 1-1.

UEFA rules set a minimum away allocation of five per cent of capacity in the Europa League. The City Ground holds just over 30,000.

Some Villa fans have urged the club to reciprocate in the return leg a week later, on Friday three May, by restricting Forest’s allocation to the minimum.

On X, @keeno1987 called for Forest to receive no more than five per cent, while @ben_0500 said Villa should mirror the reduction. @shann_fox hoped the club had already acted likewise, and Forest fan @JimD2727 voiced dislike of the decision and suggested Villa would likely respond.
