The future of João Palhinha remains undecided. Max Eberl, Bayern Munich's sporting director, spoke about the Portuguese midfielder's situation and confirmed Aston Villa's interest, although the Premier League side have remained far from an agreement with the German club after several rounds of talks.
"Our deadline is September 1st, and the transfer window is different after the World Cup. We still have two and a half weeks left. Internally, we outlined the plan from the start, and there will be some changes," he said during the presentation of new arrival Ismael Saibari from PSV.
"Aston Villa spoke to us about João Palhinha, but we did not reach an agreement. In fact, there is no chance of an agreement at the moment," he added.
It should be remembered that Damian Vidagany, the English club's sporting director, had confirmed talks between the two clubs on 8 August.
João Palhinha joined Bayern Munich in 2024/25, but made only 25 appearances before being loaned to Tottenham Hotspur in 2025/26.
