Aston Villa have secured an agreement to sign ASEC Mimosas striker Ibrahim Dosso, according to The Athletic journalist Jacob Tanswell.
Villa have a deal in place to bring the 16-year-old to the club when he turns 18 on January 1, 2027.
The Villans have a close relationship with the Ivory Coast-based club, and the deal to sign Dosso has been in place for a while.
The Ivory Coast youth international has played four league games this term, and Villa believe he has enormous potential.
Dosso will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Chelsea legend and former Ivory Coast international striker Didier Drogba as he prepares to join Villa.
The Midlands club signed 18-year-old midfielder Mohamed Kone from ASEC this summer. He joined their youth ranks, where he has continued to impress the coaches.
Kone and Dosso are unlikely to be the only ones joining Villa from the most successful club in the West African country.
ASEC’s youth team recently visited Bodymoor Heath, spending time in England and playing against the Villa academy and their counterparts from other English clubs.
Villa won the FA Youth Cup last term and will continue to invest in their youth ranks, having also signed 17-year-old Scottish attacking midfielder Fletcher Boyd from Aberdeen this summer.
They signed teenage duo Yasin Ozcan and Zepiqueno Redmond before sending them out on loan.
The Turkish defender joined Belgian Pro League club Anderlecht, while the Dutch striker joined League One club Huddersfield Town.
Centre-back Modou Keba Cisse was also signed from LASK on a pre-contract agreement, and he will spend the season on loan with the Austrian club before joining Villa next summer.
