Aston Villa reject Serie A club’s ‘tiny offer’ for World Cup finalist  | OneFootball

Aston Villa have turned down Juventus’ ‘tiny offer’ for Emiliano Martinez, per DiMarzio. 

The Serie A club are looking to sign a new goalkeeper to contest Michele Di Gregorio for the starting role. 

They submitted a bid worth around £5-6 million for Martinez, which was quickly rebuffed by Villa. 

The Lions are under no immediate pressure to sell, as the experienced keeper is under contract until 2029. 

The club recently eased their financial concerns by sanctioning a £117m transfer of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea. 

Martinez has reached the age of 33 but still his shot-stopping instincts and reflexes remain sharp. 

He produced a masterclass in Sunday’s World Cup final against Spain, recording an incredible 11 saves. 

Martinez started all eight matches for Argentina at the marquee tournament, with two clean sheets to his name. 

The 33-year-old came close to joining Manchester United last summer, but Villa refused to sell their star goalkeeper in the end. 

Martinez went on to have an impressive 2025-26 season, playing a key role in helping his club win the Europa League title and secure Champions League qualification. 

He made 44 appearances across all competitions, keeping 14 clean sheets in the process. 

Villa could still be open to letting him leave this summer as they look to trim their wage bill. But they are clearly not prepared to sell him for a low fee.
