Aston Villa sign Chelsea midfielder Jean-François | OneFootball

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Oriane Jean-François on a permanent deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this evening.

Aston Villa have paid what is believed to be a club-record fee to secure Jean-François’ services. The player has penned a long-term deal at Villa Park.

The 24-year-old French international midfielder joined former club Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain back in summer 2024. She was a domestic treble winner with The Blues last season. In addition to her spells with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Jean-François also turned out for Paris FC earlier in her career.

On the international stage, Jean-François has been capped by France on 21 occasions at senior level. The majority of her caps were collected in 2025 as she played an important role for her country.

After bringing Jean-François to Aston Villa, the club’s Director of Women’s Football, Marisa Ewers said “This is another signing that strongly supports our ambitions as a club.

“Oriane impressed throughout the European Championships as a starter for France, consistently performing at the highest level.

“We believe she will add immediate quality and further raise standards within the group.”

Jean-François is Aston Villa’s second signing of the January transfer window.
