Aston Villa sign goalkeeper Ramsey | OneFootball

Aston Villa have completed the signing of goalkeeper Emily Ramsey on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this afternoon.

The 25-year-old stopper joins Aston Villa after leaving former club Everton earlier this summer.

Ramsey spent four years on Merseyside. She initially joined Everton on loan from Manchester United in summer 2022 before the deal was later made permanent. Ramsey has also turned out for Liverpool, Sheffield United, West Ham United and Birmingham City in her senior playing career to date.

On the international stage, Ramsey has represented England at various youth levels up to and including Under-23 level. She has found herself on the fringes of the senior squad in the past but is yet to be capped by the Lionesses.

After sealing her move to Aston Villa, Ramsey said “I’m really excited to be here and looking forward to getting started.

“It felt like the right time for a new challenge. I’m excited to play at Villa Park on the right side of the team, get to know the players and see what we can achieve together this season.”
