Aston Villa have sacked head coach Natalia Arroyo after only the opening month of the Women’s Super League season. The club said in a statement that it terminated her contract last night, with Roberto Olabe serving as president of football operations.

Villa have taken two points from 12, capped by a heavy 4-0 defeat to Tottenham in London. After that loss, Arroyo spoke of regrouping in Birmingham for the next home game, but the decision arrived before then.
