Aston Villa are willing to go higher for Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.
Villa manager Steven Gerrard sees the Uruguay international as the ideal replacement for holding midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, who suffered a knee injury in December.
Calciomercato.com says Villa are now set to submit an improved bid in the region of £21million (€25million) including add-ons.
Juventus will have to pay 35 percent of any fee they receive to Boca Juniors, Bentancur's former club, though this is not thought to be an obstacle to a potential deal with Villa.
Juve want €30million to sell the Uruguayan.
