Aston Villa took the points 2-1 at Everton to go level on points with sixth-placed Spurs in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Adrian Leon’s volley was saved by Courtney Brosnan in an uneventful the first half, but would play her part in the opening goal.
The Canadian returned a pass to Kenza Dali who fired into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the box, to give Villa a 54th-minute lead.
The visitors added a second before the hour mark, Jordan Nobbs whipping in a cross which Ebony Salmon headed across the keeper and inside the far post.
Everton gave themselves hope of rescuing a point when Elise Stenevik pulled one back with six minutes remaining of the ninety, however with time almost up the Norwegian was sent off for a second yellow card.
