Aston Villa travel to Leeds United on Sunday, aiming to continue their surge up the Premier League table.
Unai Emery’s side are in great form. Indeed, Villa have won five of their last six league matches. Their emphatic 4-0 win over Bournemouth before the international break highlighted their attacking potency. Consequently, the Villans will be confident of securing another result against a struggling Leeds side.
However, they must be wary of their own away record. Villa have won just once on the road in the league this season. Therefore, a professional performance at Elland Road is essential. It will prove their top-four credentials and maintain their momentum.
Unai Emery is hopeful of having a near full-strength squad available for the trip to Leeds United, with Tyrone Mings the only confirmed absentee. The centre-back has been definitively ruled out of the Elland Road clash.
However, the Villa boss provided an upbeat assessment regarding Ezri Konsa, Matty Cash, Amadou Onana, and Lamare Bogarde, all of whom sustained injuries while on international duty. Emery revealed that the quartet are back in training and will be assessed after the final session on Saturday, but he expects “everyone to be available” barring any late setbacks. Amadou Onana is progressing well, though his availability will depend on how he comes through the final checks.
Aston Villa predicted XI: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Kamara, Tielemans; McGinn, Rogers, Buendia; Watkins
