January was an uncertain month for Marcus Rashford (27). It was clear that he was being forced towards the exit door at his formative club by new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, however, his destination for a long time remained unclear.

The England international reportedly favoured a move abroad, at least initially, amid interest from AC Milan, who ultimately opted to sign Kyle Walker, Barcelona, who couldn’t pull off the deal financially, and also Olympique de Marseille. Even before the departure of Elye Wahi to Eintracht Frankfurt, OM were looking to strengthen in attack.

They brought in Amine Gouiri from Stade Rennais, however, Les Phocéens were open to recruiting further. RMC Sport understands that Rashford was a target, as was Real Madrid’s Endrick. The publication adds that the Englishman was even tempted by a move to the Vélodrome. However, he ultimately joined Aston Villa on a loan deal until the end of the season.
