At home to Sturm Graz in final September clash

Big match on Sunday at 17:00 CEST

Turning the momentum from Sofia into energy for this Sunday’s massive ADMIRAL Bundesliga home clash against Sturm Graz – that is our mission! We are driven not only by the need to avenge the bitter defeat suffered on the third-to-last matchday of last season, but also by the fact that we remain unbeaten and have our sights firmly set on the top of the table, which we are currently trailing by just a single point.

Our Red Bulls don't have much time to recharge ahead of Sunday. After returning from Bulgaria, there is only time for a final training session on Saturday before the home game. Fabio Ingolitsch’s side played their European fixture at home on Wednesday, kicking off their UEFA Europa League campaign with a goalless draw against Stade Rennes. However, they made a real statement on the last Bundesliga matchday by defeating LASK - the league leaders who had previously boasted a perfect record.

Sunday’s encounter promises to be a thriller, and we’ll enjoy it all the more knowing an extended international break follows. It has been far too long since our last victory over Sturm - the last three meetings ended in 1-1 draws - making it crucial that we fully capitalise on home advantage this week. Our lads are counting on your support!

We are expecting a very intense match on Sunday. Sturm Graz have shown - especially of late - that they are very solid. They defend well and play with great passion and determination going forward. We need to find solutions when in possession while also pressing decisively. They are also dangerous from set-pieces, which is one of their strengths. We are looking forward to the challenge; the 1–0 win against Sofia has boosted our confidence, and we are heading into this top-of-the-table clash feeling stronger for it.

For years, Sturm have been one of the most consistent and toughest teams in the league to play against. They bring a lot of intensity, physicality, and pace to their game, so we know exactly what to expect. It will be crucial for us to be alert from the very start, win our duels, and stick to our principles. Matches like this demand a lot, but they are also the kind of encounters players look forward to. We want to play boldly in front of our fans and do everything we can to win this difficult match
