Sky Sport Italia reports that Atalanta have agreed a deal to sign Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe, a package worth €40m.

By coincidence the sides meet this evening in Serie A, and Rowe was omitted from Bologna’s squad as he pushed for the move.

The agreement is structured as a €5m loan now, with a €30m obligation to buy at the end of the season, plus €5m in performance bonuses.

Bologna are finalising Werder Bremen’s Samuel Mbangula as his replacement, on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old Belgian, formerly of Juventus, joined Bremen last summer for €10m plus add-ons. Atalanta had pursued Rowe for several weeks before the breakthrough.
