According to Football Italia, Atalanta have a basic agreement to sign Thomas Kristensen from Udinese on an initial loan with an obligation to buy, valued at around €22 million plus add-ons.

The structure is a season-long loan, with the obligation kicking in at the end of the campaign, allowing the fee to be paid over time.

The package is set at €22 million plus add-ons, with about €five million in performance-related bonuses. Udinese had been asking for €25 million.

Kristensen is viewed as the replacement for Berat Djimsiti, who has completed a permanent move to Saudi Pro League side Al Diriyah.

The 24-year-old Denmark international joined Udinese in summer 2023 and has made 78 competitive appearances, scoring four goals.

He might not be the last defender through the door, with interest remaining in reuniting coach Maurizio Sarri with Lazio’s Alessio Romagnoli after his Saudi move collapsed.
